Organics Unlimited Hosts Retailer Contests for GROW Month

San Diego, CA (August 16, 2012) Organics Unlimited will be hosting two separate contests this September to further increase retailer participation during GROW Month. Registration is now open and the company has invited anyone who sells GROW bananas to enter.

GROW Month is a time to spread consumer awareness of how each retailer is helping workers and their families in banana growing regions. By incorporating retailer contests, Organics Unlimited sees great opportunity to maximize sales. “The important thing is to keep in mind who we are helping, but we also want retailers to have fun in the process,” says Mayra Velazquez de Leon, President and Co-Founder of Organics Unlimited.

One of the contests will be judged on how creative, yet informative retailers can make their GROW banana displays. Photo entries must be submitted to organics@osterads.com for judgment by the end of September. The three best displays will receive a prize.

Demo clerks will play an important role within the second contest. Demo clerks of participating retailers are invited to develop a recipe incorporating GROW bananas. The recipes will be judged on taste, originality, and presentation. Retailers must submit their recipes to organics@osterads.com, and include the day and time that they will be serving the recipe to their customers. The three best recipes win. Also, the demo clerk who sells the most GROW bananas for their store on the day they participate in the recipe contest will also earn a prize.

Organics Unlimited is prepared to supply any retailer the point-of-purchase materials necessary to successfully promote GROW Month. “Retailers are encouraged to be as creative as they can, while including elements of information that can help customers understand who they are supporting with each purchase,” states Velazquez de Leon.

Organics Unlimited is a San Diego-based distributor of organic tropical fruit from Mexico and South America, providing GROW-certified bananas. They are USDA certified for the US and Canada through Organic Certifiers. Organics Unlimited offers organic bananas through their traditional label, as well as the GROW label and Fair Trade label. Organics Unlimited Prepares for GROW Month this September

San Diego, CA (August 1, 2012) Come this September, Organics Unlimited will help their customers increase sales of GROW bananas through GROW Month. With the wheels in motion, this year’s GROW Month has begun to see great potential and expects increased collaboration among retailers.

Hosted every September by Organics Unlimited, GROW Month is a time to maximize retailer support. The company will be providing tailored in-store promotional materials that will help raise awareness of GROW, a charitable fund that provides help to workers and their families in banana growing regions. Organics Unlimited is prepared to help retailers with sampling events and contests as well as providing point-of-purchase materials, including display signs, recipe cards, banana bags, and more.

With each box of GROW bananas purchased, a portion of the revenue is donated to the GROW Fund, which is administered by the International Community Foundation. Funds are distributed to programs such as Project Amigo in Mexico and other nonprofit service projects in Ecuador.

In preparation for GROW Month, Organics Unlimited expects to see increased growth from years past. “An increase in sales means more opportunities for the communities where the bananas are grown,” says Mayra Velazquez de Leon, President and Co-Founder of Organics Unlimited and GROW. “These programs include valuable educational and health opportunities for workers and their families that they may have never had the chance to obtain otherwise.”

Continuing their famous quotes marketing campaign, this quarter for GROW Month, Organics Unlimited uses inspired words from a Roman stoic philosopher, Seneca. He states, “Wherever there’s a human being, there’s an opportunity for kindness.”

San Diego, CA (July 9, 2012) Organics Unlimited has launched a new, fully restructured website. The new site promises to expand the benefits of the company by creating an easily accessible and user-friendly experience for all distributers and retailers.

The new Organics Unlimited website hosts up-to-date point-of-purchase materials, merchandising ideas, and industry news focused on selling the advantages of organic produce. “We wanted to give retailers a resource that is both informative and provides hands-on tools,” says Mayra Velazquez de Leon, President and Co-Founder of Organics Unlimited. The new website will also provide an updated feed from Organics Unlimited’s blog, OrganicOdes.com.

GROW (Giving Resources and Opportunities to Workers) by Organics Unlimited will also receive a brand new website. Once a part of the Organics Unlimited corporate site, GROWBananas.org will have its own voice focused on consumer awareness.

“The GROW website has a lot of information to take away for our customers. But, it will also provide consumers with a better understanding of how they are instrumental to this cause with each purchase of GROW bananas,” explains Velazquez de Leon. Volunteer opportunities are also available through the website.
